Our Story

Hi!

We are the Nelson family - Chelsey, Nathan, and our three kids, Paisley, Tucker, and Everett. Together, we own and operate Valley View Farms in Machias, NY. We are first-generation farmers, passionate about providing our community with a safe, sustainable, and wholesome product.

Our farming journey began in 2013 with just three Hereford cows, and over the years, we’ve grown our herd to 70 head of beef cattle. We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef and pork, producing all of our own hay for the cows and even making our own pig feed using corn grown right here on the farm. Because we handle everything ourselves - from feeding to finishing - we have full control over the quality of our products, ensuring you get the best farm-to-table experience.

We primarily sell quarters, halves, and whole animals, but we also offer retail cuts and packages to fit a variety of needs. All of our meat is USDA inspected, vacuum-sealed, and labeled with our farm’s name, so you know exactly where your food comes from .

We understand that purchasing meat directly from a farmer can feel intimidating, but we’re here to make the process simple and transparent. Whether you have questions about ordering, storage, or cooking, we’re happy to walk you through everything step by step.

Our Mission

At Valley View Farms, our mission is to provide a safe and sustainable food source that is grown and raised locally. Our animals are All-Natural, meaning they do not receive low-level antibiotics, animal byproducts, or steroids. Our produce is grown sustainably without the use of chemical fertilizers or synthetic fertilizers.

We are committed to making a strong contribution to an improved environment and giving back to our local community.
